Blindness

Meisha and I just watch this movie last night. It really got me thinking a lot. I've never seen an epidemic movie done quite this way. It explores a lot of the types of theories and ideas found in Lord of the Flies. I found myself enjoying the hell out of it, yet hating it and being disgusted all at the same time. It made me think about order, and how we as a human race need it. It made me really start to wonder about "true" human nature and what that meant. It made me wonder what I would be like and who I would be like in the movie had I been thrown into such a situation. Would I be a leader? Would I be a follower? Would I be an asshole? Would I have died.... or killed myself? I love movies that lead to more questions and inspire independent thought.

This is one of them.

Hello. I appreciate your comments ALL the time. and I actually thought of you while typing that post, but not in a bad way. Moreso, I hope this doesn't offend him. Also it wasn't about your situation, so don't think it was directed at you. Basically i've just been surrounded by service acts lately, and they make me feel good, and sometimes when someone offers to do something for me, i say no, then i realize, what if that was them just wanting to serve and i shut it down? you know? so yes. good talk. good thought.

second. i never ever wanted to see that movie. i'm pretty sure i was afraid of it. was it scary? i hate scary movies. but if it really makes you wonder and ponder, maybe i will see it? because those movies are really quite great, the ones that make you think.

No worries. Not offended. Just made me think. And yes, I think we all tend to shut people down from giving us help on occasion. I think it would also do the world some good if we allow those people their right to serve someone.

I wouldn't really say the movie was necessarily scary. I would describe the movie as unsettling or uncomfortable. Not sure if you'd like it or not. If you've seen or read Lord of the Flies and you were OK with that, then you'd probably be OK with this one. If you haven't, watch at your own risk. =)
