If you're curious, my website is www.desigmotion.com. Check it out if you'd like. It's pretty much just a temporary contact page for now. I'll get the real site up as soon as I get caught up on the other sites I'm doing.

Alrighty, this might hurt a little but you wanted honest and I think honest is the best way to help someone.
1. Get rid of the transparent border. Your entire background sound be transparent. What if you want to put that on a web site with a green BG for example?
2. Maybe rethink your word choice. You have actual gears, the word gear and then the word motion (good! they match and they're related), however they rather make you think of cars or a car dealership logo than a design company. Look up some design companies and what they're doing currently to see what's trendy. I can give you some references if you'd like.
3. You need a black stroke around the letters, every logo should be able to work in black and white and on a black or white background (as well as color and multiple colors). If your white letters are put on a white background, the way they are, they'll disappear.
4. You should use symmetry. That is, the red line at the end of your M should be parallel to the lines of the M. I'm not sure if it is but it looks kinda off to me.
5. I think you should use the second tag line (the one with website) if you only specialize in website design. You don't want to mislead people and make them think that you'll also design their business cards, letter press and what not.
6. Your copyright symbol is a little too small. It looks like a red dot and you can't really see it.
7. I can see some strange red noise behind the red lettering of the logo. What is that?!
I like the metallic gear, it gives it movement and it looks cool. However you might have some trouble resizing the logo or expanding it since the gear is a raster and not a vector image.
Anyways, I like it. I think you have some little things to fix here and there but overall it's a nice logo. And don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to tear it apart, just to help you improve it. I really hope this helps. Also, I have a nice little .pdf about logo creation and stuff like that, if you wanna check it out I could send it to you. It's pretty helpful.
Thank you! Thank you! This helps a lot.
1. I have it saved both ways, but I get what you mean.
2. My sister said the same thing about it feeling like something "car related". I think it's funny that the only people who had seen it before were "car guys" and loved it. Funny how the mind works =) References would be great! I would really appreciate it.
3. Makes sense. Hopefully I can figure out how to do that and keep it clean. I'm still learning a lot about Photoshop.
4. I agree on the M. I spent a lot of time playing with angles and what not, but after the post, I decided it definitely needed to be re-worked. I'm currently working on that.
5. Agreed.
6. I'll change that too.
7. Not really sure on the noise. I don't think it shows up in Photoshop, but I'll make sure. I'm not really sure what to do about the metallic gear. I can try to draw it with vectors and I think I can at least duplicate the shape, but I have no idea how to duplicate the metallic texture and have it look cool. Any help?
I'm working on all the changes now and maybe when I'm done I can email it to you? I would gladly welcome anything you'd like to send me for help. My email is jshmnwrng@gmail.com. Again, thank you so much for the input.
